Bible Groups
We believe in Life change - the transforming experience of a real and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We also believe that the optimum environment for this transformation is within healthy and vibrant community - a place where people study God's Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It's also where they pray, care for one another, and are missed if they don't show up. A variety of groups are necessary to meet the individual needs of believers as well as the diverse needs of the church as a whole. It's in these groups that people can grow in Christ-likeness, and their relationship and care for each other.
Here at CABSDA most of our Bible Groups take place on Saturday mornings from 9:30-10:30am. There are several groups to choose from, which fall into two broad categories:
1. Bible Classes
Our Bible classes follow a quarterly lesson plan, shared by Adventist churches all over the world. In a Bible class the focus is on study, with a brief introductory time (usually about 10mins) before hand. Most of these classes are discussion-based and are open to new attenders every week. This quarter's lesson is available free online at www.ssnet.org.
2. Life Groups
Our Life Groups are founded in community - the shared journey of life, and growing to know God and each other better during the quarter. Built on 5 core purposes, Life Groups devote time to worship, connecting with other groups members, growing together in Bible study, contributing to the needs of others, and sharing our time, resources and faith with others. Life Group options include:
1. Contagious Christian; 2. Network - Discovering your Spiritual Gifts; 3. Fundamental Bible Teachings; 4. Living on Purpose; 5. SDA Lesson Quarterly
Currently there are life groups operating in Elimbah, Caboolture, Bellmere, Kallangur, Bribie island, and North Lakes. To participate simply email our pastoral team.
3. Wednesday night Bible study
Every Wednesday night one of our elders leads a Bible study in the church from 7-8pm in the worship centre.
4. New Believer's Bible Groups
There is a class for New Believers and those exploring Christianity every Saturday morning at 9:30am. Currently this group meets in Hut 1 beside the entry to the worship centre.
5. Groups for School Students
Wednesday and Thursday afternoons 3:15-4pm during school term
